Just the total sales for Japan and America is 213,908. It's still selling quite strong in the US.
If we assume a drop of 400 units per week (it dropped at an average of 319 over the last 3 weeks), it will take 10 weeks for it to drop below 1,000. By then, it would add another 28,000 to the total, bring it to almost 161K in US.
The current known figure now stands at 220,225. Add a conservative 5% for Canada:
220,225 + (133,859 * 5%) = 226,917
287,000 (current prediction) - 226,917 (estimated current sales) = 60,083
NA is probably going to add another 29,400 to the total, so Europe will have to pick up 31K copies. I think UK, Germany and France would have picked up more units than Spain.
I think this game will end up at 300-350K (30-35 DKP) during its lifetime.
Yeah this game rated well but fell short in sales around the world , In japan it was #1 for the first week is was out then completely fell outta the charts , Total sales of this game so far are 79,319 through 10 weeks in Japan and in USA it hasnt been in a weekly Top 50 since March 11th when it reached 36th with less than 10k in sales , the total at that time was 75,396 and seeing there has been 5 weeks since then that it hasnt been in the top 50 that doesnt bode well for this title reaching half a million , there is the slight possabilty that when the price lowers it will sell enough to meet the stock price , I think ppl are unwilling to pay 60 bucks for most games that dont have a online feature
@Trihunter, you can't compare directly with VF4 because it was a PS2 exclusive. VF5 is splitting sales with the Xbox 360 version. To be more realistic at judging the demand for this game, you have to sum the PS3 and 360 version stock prices.
The concern right now with PS3 titles is due to the low numbers of PS3 being sold and in the hands of gamers everywhere, and the low numbers of attach rate (ie number of games a person buys) for the console.
Given these two factors, I can see all PS3 games being 'undervalued' due to the circumstances.
Games that are released early in the consoles life (not many around) suffer the possibility of being replaced by an upgraded better version (Virtua Fighter 5.5 in 18 mths time perhaps?) when the numbers for the console has reached critical mass.
I would hardly say Virtua Fighter 5 is a killer app. First of all, it can't be a killer app if its cross platform. Second, I can't see anyone getting a PS3 just for this game.

Selling almost 5,000 last week (rank 68). So there is still some life in it.

It's constant at 15th place on the top 29 UK PS3 chart.
