thrs really no reason to be confused it was thr in the top 3 in almost all the pc charts and pc games do very well in europe....atleast those that r there in the charts.....take quake wars for example.....it sold just 25k copies in the us but it sold more than 200k worldwide....that almost 8 times the amount of sales in the us which is quite staggering...but thats the route pc gaming is going now....
@-THE-RAY-, Actually many PC systems can run this game on medium settings that while aren't bleeding edge like the high and very high settings that require a pretty expensive rig, are still pretty good graphics.
Also, I think some PC titles can be underestimated a little bit if people are predicting the sales of the PC titles using NPD data that has been released because digital distribution is not counted in the NPD data and digital distribution is is already pretty large on the PC and is only becoming larger.
I still cant see how this has got 1million. I didnt think it was possible to find a million PC systems that can run the game! I suppose im annoyed that i lost 3million on the game!
are u ppl kidding me??? just 107dkp?? so u think that it will sell just 70000 more copies thats it? i'm guessing arnd 150dkp is fine for this game.....and for those who were guessing arnd 35-40dkp got seriously owned
@GoblinMerchant,I agree but i think about even 2/3 would buy this in the first month so 15-17dkp in total for america its more popular in europe so 30dkp in total for any ware else so 45dkp would be a fare estimate.
Added the November NPD sales data. 700k + copies seems a bit high to me. If we assume second month sales are as strong as first month sales (possible because the second month is December), we are looking at about 180k copies sold via retail in the US. If we take the rule that a game sells 2/3 of its copies in the first two months, we are looking at about 270k in the US for lifetime. Even assuming even-sales in Canada and Europe, that's 540k copies. I'd say 600k copies tops at this point.
