@Joe80, That # (800K - 900K) is estimated by Gamasutra, not actual # from NPD. They arrived at that # because #3, Madden NFL 09, is at 1.0 Million. While I agree that their estimate is Logical, it is also possible that the actual # is lower, like 600 - 700K.
Unless there is a game that didn't show up on Top 5, but we KNOW for sure that their # is around 700K - 750K, THEN we have high confidence that #5 is really at least around 800K.
Deftangel's 5 Top Games for 2008 Gamasutra article indicates that the 360 version of Army of Two sold around 800,000 to 900,000 in the US alone. VGC has the game at 1.33 million already. Given that it has sold over a million & is by EA, it will very most likely have a Platinum Hits version release. Given this information, I think this is undervalued.
why isnt this game valued higher? i mean it sold over 600k copies in its first month in America alone. Lifetime sales in America should double that easily and once you factor in Europe this becomes seriously undervalued.
@Just_Ben, Interesting. Here I am, once again in a different position (short) than you (long).
I hope that I am right, this time (doesn't want to lose to you AGAIN). I am out of short margin myself, so I am not going to continue shorting this one, especially at the current price. If it ever went to 45 or above, I will move things around and short it.
I sure hope I don't lose BIG money again (like I did with Layton DS Feb futures). I am especially cautious when going against you.
I beg a pardon? Hmm I am long here, thats right ;)
As of VG reporting, going by VGC NPD should post something about 362 as number for the US (remember, tracking different markets?) but I am still long, I rely on a other source this time around.
Whats your point exactly? If you think it is to high, sell! ;)
ive got a feeling i may be going against you Just_Ben, would i be right?
as to why i am, its because i think that this title is a one week wonder where sales fall sharply after their first week success which was down to a small amount of hype and interest built up before release. less than amazing reviews arent there to keep interest high. the only thing i can think of thats inflating the stock atm is VG reporting 186k first week sales which i think is overestimated to begin with and that this game will drop off sharply.

I have confidence in Gamasutra's analysis. I would like to see what games sold under Army of Two though.
