This game's price continues to fall (at one point predicted to sell less than 800,000 copies), which seems contradictory to what has been argued for in previous comments. Joe80, Gaara42 (first and second post), audioeric and GamerMan76 have all argue in previous post as to why this game should be predicted to sell at least 1.15 million copies, though 1.5 million seems more likely. Games like this game, such as Gear of War which is developed by the same studio, are predicted to sell: 1.81 million, 5.05 million, 1.15 million, 1.72 million, and 1.43 million. Keep in mind those are all Xbox360 games and are all shooters, much like this game.
Combine all that and this game is undervalued and should be predicted to sell at least 1.15 million, though 1.5 million seems more realistic.
I agree, I am holding on for when sense prevails. Although this seems to affect a few titles. I will eat my hat if Half Life 2 only just tops 1 million (I currently do not possess any headgear so this is a pretty safe bet).
Gaara42 & Joe80... I'm sitting here reading your comments and they are saying the same thing I am thinking. this gaem should sell 1 million easily and I don't think 1.5 million is off base by much.
Maybe I'm in the dark but why is this game not higher than it is. I know Halo 3 is launching around the same time but this game should be able to stand on it's own and sell 1 million if not the full 1.5 million.
If someone could shed some light on this. i would appreciate it :)
I agree with Joe80, this stock is trading much lower than the Rainbow Six or GRAW stocks are, even though I fully expect, with the recent success of Gears of War, that this game will sell at least 1.5 million on the Xbox360. I think the current price for the PS3 version in about right, but this game should be much higher than it currently is. Does anyone have sales data for the two Unreal games released on the original Xbox?
I'm still surprised this stock is under 1 million. If you look at all the titles on the SE at or above a million and compare them to this game, it really says UT3 is undervalued. Epic ain't going head to head against Halo 3 without having a superb game to match. With games like Lost Planet, R6 Vegas, etc well above UT3; it becomes clear this game is undervalued.
audioeric, I agree, this game will benefit greatly from the recent success of Gears of War. The game looks visually the same as Gears of War, in that it is dark and grim, but it is more multiplayer orientated with faster gameplay. I see this game selling around 1.5 million on the pessimistic side. Look at Rainbow Six Vegas, it is projected to sell around 1.48 million copies at the moment, Unreal Tournament is another FPS that has great multiplayer and a decent single player and on the Xbox that will generate sales.
I agree, I think this will pick up as the game's release date gets closer. It's Unreal Tournament, an essential staple to the FPS community. I think it's a bit undervalued, as there will be LOADS of cobranding 'From the Studio that brought you Gears of War'., etc.
They hyped Gears of War until they were blue in the face. Some was good, some wasn't. I think that was a good foray into heavy marketing for Epic, and I'm sure they'll be doing all of the good things for this game. I can't wait to buy it.
I bought this stock when at its IPO because I know the UT franchise does amazingly well, and this has been one of the most sought-after games in a long time. It will showcase the power of the Unreal 3.0 engine, very nicely, IMO. I don't understand why this stock has been in such a decline since the IPO, but I know it will come back up, and I will be holding on to this one for a long time.
I think this stock is undervalued. The PS3 ver is at 82.28 dkp & the PC ver is at 177.76. Epic has a lot of fans on 360 now that respect them due to GeoW. The PC ver won't have [too] much leg up because the 360 ver will also have user mods.

I'm not into 'shooters' or the Xbox so educate me...could it be a case of too many shooters on one platform?
Does UT/Haze/Gears/Timeshift etc etc not spread things too thin? Is there not a chance of 'exhaustion' when it comes to this fantasy shooter genre?
