@Just_Ben, I think alot of PS owners are like me though...online is a 'new' thing and not the main driver of why we play games (unline Xboxers who have had an integrated online experience since close to day one).
I am now VERY reluctant to spend $60 on a game for 5 hours of single play and having to rely on online to enjoy the game...I like to be able to pick up games 2 or 3 years later and not have to rely on the major attraction being online game play...there won't be any players. It is the same reason I haven't bought Warhawk though it looks great.
I'll be waiting to see how long HAZE or KZ2 or proper Socom are now.
Thats why I think it is overrated. It will only get units sold to online players. Off line players will not buy it, maybe rent. 5 hours is a joke, nothing more nothing less.
Personally, I find a short single-player as a huge disappointment. The only thing that set CoD above that other FPS games for me was the atmosphere of the single player, which made you feel that one soldier in a large army, as opposed to a lone gunman.
I'm all for a strong multi-player mode, but that's no excuse for companies to slack off on a solid single-player mode.
@kspraydad, Valid point. 360 Others location 3.86 million, PS3 Others location 1.95 million. But CoD4 won't be selling nearly as much in EU+others as it does in NA. I think CoD4 for PS3 may be undervalued.
@kspraydad, I would say because of the installed base. 360 ~8.02 million NA PS3 ~2.16 million NA But I think the difference is actually a little too large even considering, I think the PS3 version could actually be undervalued perhaps. Not saying it is, but the chance is there, when you consider that PS3 has less AAA games this Fall than 360.
