well even if it does reach 200k and its not considered a flop due to subscriptions that means its going to fall about 75% of its current price. TSE isnt based on revenue or profit a game makes its simply sales numbers so i agree this is seriously overvalued. low risk, high reward imo.
@vGInfidel, a couple hundred thousand units wouldn't be a complete flop for an MMORPG. Most don't get that many unit sales as the money is in the subscriptions.
At 890k now, it seems way over-optimistic.
Can someone who knows more about the game update the wiki summary? One important detail would be the monthly pricing.
after looking into it i really dont think that this game will surpass LOTRO which was delisted at 62.9 dkp as its a less known franchise. whats more LOTRO recieved very good reviews, 8/10 and above mainly, and i dont think this will surpass that by far if at all. even with the LOTR franchise and a good solid game at heart it still didnt sell very well.
i think LOTRO shows us what complete dominance WoW has on the MMORPG market and how difficult it is even for an establshed fantasy franchise such as LOTR to break into that market. i dont think AoC has any better chances unless it turns out to revolutionise the genre. hence why ive shorted it.
hmmm, at a 100dkp im not sure wether to short on not. on one hand this game could be a complete flop and only manage a couple of hundred thousand units, or it could be a huge success along the lines of WoW (unlikely but possible). or it could achieve reasonable sales and id come out round about even.
