funny how a stock jumps as soon as it gets a release date and is brought to peoples attention even though it may be completely unfounded otherwise. yes it means its hitting the holiday season but will this game really see 7million copies on pc when you take into account the considerable downturn in pc gaming recently (when compared to consoles), it being multiplatform and the fact that it the majority of hype is in hardcore circles and not along the same lines as GTA4 for example.
It looks like the stock price is getting out of control again. The stock is reaching some resistance near 550 but well off the lows at 475. This stock is way overvalued anywhere over 5 million copies.

@Just_Ben, I had the sense this is more of a strategy game. SimCity is another simulation game, but it doesn't appeal to women the way the Sims does. My understanding is Spore combines gameplay from Civilization and Master of Orion, titles that definitely do not appeal to women.
Girls or Women like creative games. Games where they can design the world, they are in. This game is creative. It fits their needs. Its not like girls only play mysims or games like that.
@Just_Ben, I don't think the Sims and Spore are at all in the same category of games. People who play the Sims tend to be girls, and the reason they play is they can play virtual relationships, dress up their characters, decorate their virtual houses, etc. Spore doesn't have any of the same appeal that makes Sims popular. Sims appeals to teenage girls. Spore appeals to strategy gamers.
@Stitch,Yes i totally agree.Since this has no release date it brings me concerns that when this is released the time of pc games selling millions will be coming to an end as more consoles flood the market. But its not all bad it still think this can pass the 1million but i think 2.5million is the highest this might acheive.
I still really like the game and i might consider buying it.
Shouldn't spore and The Sims be the same market. I say it depends: How fast does that game come to the Wii. Yes the Wii. It is a creative title, and if it does well, it will do well under female gamers. It is a fit for the Wii (Pointer), at least by the videos I have seen.
