Didn't Pachter expect 400K units for this in April? I guess if he also meant March sales then he was under by about 25%. If he meant just April, than he was over by 100%.
According to VGCharts, this sold 62,065 this week in North America, up nearly 40 thousand up from last week. Last weeks drop in sales was most probably caused by supply constraints. This brings its total sales (for North America) to 510,513.
@the_bUg, I definitely agree with you. Pachter is expecting the game to sell 400K in April. If that is the case, we're looking at 700k sales in just 2 months in the US alone.
Also, I don't think you need to cite an external site for March NPD data, its posted on this site (on the blog).
Considering The NPD Data shows that his title sold in the fiscal month ending on APR 7 and that the title was released on APR 3rd, in 5 days of sales it moved 300,000 units. Incredibly impressive sales numbers. In 5 days it managed to take 3rd place over all in the months cross-platform sales chart. Even though this stock is at it's highest price point, I believe it to be undervalued.
The worst thing for this stock is that they're already talking about Guitar Hero 3 in this fall. Unless they announce that there will be a cheaper upgrade version available, why would people go out 2-3 months from now and buy this one at full price?
I suppose it depends on when they start advertising it and what differs between the two...but two Guitar Hero games AND Rock Band on the 360 in less than 9 months? Smells like over-saturation, especially since there's no proven sales on next-gen platforms for this (and the install base is much smaller than the PS2).
Sadly, the perceived over-expensive downloadables and the guitar quality issues are putting a bit of a black mark on this game in the online community. I'm afraid it may cause those who were waiting for this over the PS2 version to go with that one instead. Those who have a 360 and no PS2 aren't afforded this option, and those who don't really read up won't know in the first place. Still, I don't see this game doing as well as I did previously. I'm hesitant to cry sell, but it's not as sure a thing as it was on launch day.
There is a new review that gives this game a perfect score, that along with all of the marketing and the previous success of this game on the PS2 will help this game to sell. I consider this stock undervalued and shoudl very easily hit the 1.13 million it's currently valued at.

I added the NPD sales data to the wiki summary.
