Microsoft will give those who pre-order Lost Odyssey a special card allowing them to redeme two exclusive batches of downloadbale content "unavailable anywhere else". One is described as a song that recalls a dream while the other is the make-it-a-bit-easier skill, Weapon Guard 2.
Taking a handful of Japan’s gaming superheroes and having them collaborate on a Final Fantasy-esque JRPG is the equivalent of a slam dunk—speaking of which, manga mastermind Takehiko Inoue is on board for Lost Odyssey, which heads to the U.S. in February.
Agreed, remember the days of Final Fantasy VIII, which contained 4 disk. Did that turn out to be an issue in any way? Not really, it actually helped as I would always stop played at the end of a disk and take a break (for a couple days even).
How is this even remotely an issue for people? Given the number of hours you'll have to play through to reach the end of a disk, it's extremely unlikely you'll have to change discs during a single sitting. Besides, if you're sitting around for 5-10 hours playing a single game, it might be healthy to get up and stretch your legs by walking to your 360 and popping in a new disc.
Are the achievements somehow suppose to make having to swap disks fun? I always found it a pain in games like FF7. Too bad xbox doesn't use HDDVD, a dual layer HDDVD can hold 30gb, almost the same as 4 dual layer DVDs which is 34gb.
Did you think Blue Dragon was the only game on Xbox 360 that would have you swapping discs as you progressed through the game? Think again – Lost Odyssey will be 1-upping Blue Dragon by packing in four discs.
