"Like dysfunctional characters in a buddy flick, Army of Two has some annoying problems, but if you just want a fun cooperative experience, it gets the job done and delivers sizeable thrills you won’t find anywhere else."
I doubt that the delay will help sales or the quality of this game much. It will be released during a slow time during the year on might end up competing with the likes of MGS4 or GTA4, which it can not do. It is being released on the PS3, which has had disappointing software sales and reading the below preview, it seems that this game has no redeemable qualities. This game is still overvalued and should be around 35DKP at most.
As it stands, Army of Two is a juvenile swear-fest with clumsy controls, a story apparently penned by a seven year old who hates them ay-rabs, laughable level design that tosses you into a cut-scene every thirty seconds, sub Perfect Dark Zero graphics and the two least likable characters in gaming history.
"It's an important game for them if they hope to establish it as a franchise," Pachter said. "It shouldn't have much of an impact, but the market always seems to assume the worst about the company."
EA shares were up about 1 percent to $58.16 in late afternoon trading on Nasdaq.
With Army of Two, EA Montreal believes it's struck on something that even the best co-operative shooters - like Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas - are missing out on: designing for co-op from the ground up. What that gives you is systems like Aggro - borrowed from MMOs, Aggro is the concept of drawing enemy attention in order to let your partner slip around unmolested. We managed to track down lead designer Chris Ferriera, whereupon he told us how the game's seemingly disparate co-op systems, customization options and level design themselves co-operate to give players an experience that not only encourages them to play together, but gives them more combat options than anything we've played before.
