BTW, if it maintains that rate of selling it will only do about 600k in sales before the next title is released. It is doubtful Madden can maintain 16/week for that long.
@Joe80, True it might not sell another 700,000.But it has big legs that its still selling an average of 16,000 a week after 11 weeks and sales tend to rise towards the holidays. With a bit of luck it might be possible.
896,600 AUG NPD + 173,000 SEPT NPD = 1,069,600. VGC total # 1.26 million & 19,062 last week. Let's say OCT sales are 2/3rds of SEPT's (generous) so 129,750 + 1,069,600 = 1,199,350. This game seems overvalued as well. Do we really expect another 700,000 copies to be sold?
Based on sustained sales of 80k per month for maybe 3 or 4 more months then it would top out around 1.6 so based on currently accepted sales numbers. (I personally think 80k/month is high after Xmas)
89.66DKP + 17.3DKP = 106.96DKP in first two months of sales. This will likely top off at around 160-170DKP, judging by the large drop off from first month to second month sales, it may not even achieve that.
"Catering to the growing Latino population in the United States, EA Sports will embrace Spanish-speaking gamers by delivering Madden NFL '08 en Espanol, a new version of the popular Madden 08 game for PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 that's fully translated into Spanish."
Madden NFL for the Xbox360 sold 896,600 or 89.66DKP copies in its first month (NPD numbers). Seeing how a majority of the people who will buy Madden buy it on launch, a price range between 200DKP-225DKP seems more realistic at the moment.
As many had suspected, changing the time of day the IPO begins didn't make a difference. Are people aware Madden 08 Xbox 360 is in IPO Phase 1 today? IPO Phase 1 begins at 11AM Pacific now.
