vgchartz has this game at 1.04 million copies sold. Not sure if it has any legs left. I have searched around and have not found a reported number higher than the one Joe80 posted previously, it may be buried in a company report or new numbers may have not been reported yet.
"vgchartz is an independent site who bases their numbers on a small pool of data, which is known to be inaccurate at times, only use loosely as a guide."
I believe this is all format sales it released under, not 360 only.
"Buried in its restructuring statement was this bit of data from Sci/Eidos: Kane and Lynch sold 1.4 million units.
That's a solid, though far from spectacular, worldwide performance for a game that got very mixed reviews.
@Arbiter, Type of game : - No leg : First 2 month = 2/3 of GLS (LTD) - Some leg : First 2 month = 1/2 of GLS - Real leg : First 2 month = 1/3 or even 1/4 of GLS Example of real leg : Super Mario Sunshine.
As standard, I usually consider game as "some leg", unless there is a reason to consider them as the other category (can be based on track record of previous game in a series, can be based on same type of game, or different game on the same platform).
Because this is on X360, and because of the controversy around this game (free publicity), I consider this as "some leg".
@apujanata, what's the reasoning behind 1 million for remainder of life? Isn't the general rule a game makes 2/3 of its sales in the first 2 months? That would mean there's a remainder of 500k copies.
At 1.5 million units, and given the 60% allotment you assume, the 360 version should be at 900k copies.
@apujanata, I believe that the price needed to go up a bit when I posted my other comment also, but I wanted to make sure that people remembered that it was not all on one platform.
Also, an implementation of being able to edit or delete posted comments probably would not be the best thing as people could just delete their comments or what not if they wanted to take back some statement they said and would interfere with the discussions taking place on the SE.
Yes, it is true that at this moment, the stock LTD is not 1 million yet. But since we are doing GLS (Global Lifetime Sales), this one should be 1 Million or more.
Reason : 1 Million for 2 months, which means at least another 1 Million for the remaining life. Hence, 2 Million GLS. Since it is on 3 platform, and it is not a main PC series (IIRC), then the breakdown could be like this : 60% X360 (high H/W LTD) 30% PS3 (low H/W LTD) 10% PC (since PC gaming are plagued with pirate)
With 60% of 2 Million, it should be 1.2 Million, higher than the 1 Million I predicted.
Even if you think that the GLS is only 1.5 Million (50% from current LTD), it still bring the figure to 900K, which is significantly higher than the current 660K price.
SimExchange really should implement a way to delete or edit the posted comment. :D
Kane & Lynch 620k 360 Kane & Lynch440k PS3 Kane & Lynch ---- PC (guessing less than 100k) TOTAL: 1.06 million [not including PC]
#s from VGC.
I didn't remember this was listed on the SE, otherwise I would've bought shares earlier. 360 version likely selling at least 55% more than the PS3 version is so this is undervalued.
@apujanata, Do not forget the fact that the story does not clarify on what platform these sales were on and therefore are most likely a comination of all platforms that this title was released on (PS3, 360, and PC). So, there is no reason for this stock to have to be predicting at least 1 million copies sold.
Also, to answer your question from your other comment, at this time there is no way to delete a comment that you made in the past.
