"The Everyone's Nintendo Channel has been a part of the Japanese Wii for a couple of months now, but the promise of downloadable DS demos has resulted in nothing more than a bunch of Touch Generation non-game samplers. That's about to change, thanks to just about the most hardcore gaming series around. Tecmo Japan announced today that it will release a demo of Ninja Gaiden DS through the service in the middle of March. The demo will also be available at DS Station retail kiosks."
"Over the course of several months we've been introduced to many iterations of Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, the Nintendo DS-specific action game in development at Tecmo's Team Ninja game group. Just this past week, the studio head Tomonobu Itagaki brought a 93% complete version (not 90 or 95 percent, mind you 93% - his words) to the IGN offices so we can see how the game's evolved since our last outing - the demo version shown at Tokyo Game Show back in September last year."
Fans of slashy action will be pleased to hear that Tecmo has officially confirmed a launch date for the the stylish and much-anticipated Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword -- aka, the DS game where Ryu Hyabusa's only purpose is to flip out and kill people. All the time.
While the company hasn't yet provided an actual day to mark on our calendars, they did helpfully supply a definite inbound date of "sometime" in March 2008 as well as the game's final box art.
