The game once again focuses on ninja Ryu Hayabusa, but a younger version of him. Apparently, Ninja Gaiden II will focus on the butt-kicking hero's formative years in adventure, set before the action in the original NES and arcade Ninja Gaiden adventures. The specifics of the story aren't available yet, but longtime fans can look forward to some interesting twists and new faces, along with all kinds of stabbing.
@Laoldar, Yeah and now I need to add this to the list of games that will force me to buy a 360. I know a lot of people didn't think much of NGS but I had only played the original Xbox game for a few minutes, by getting it for my PS3, even if a rehashed port with great graphics, I was hooked. And this game just looks incredible.
I would like to note that with Microsoft publishing this, it is never coming to the PS3. I am sorry to say it but it sucks that it won't be released on PS3.
As Microsoft is set to announce at a pre-Tokyo Game Show press event shortly, Ninja Gaiden 2 is real, heading to Xbox 360, and -- in an unusual twist -- being published by Microsoft itself, rather than Tecmo. While still under development by Tecmo's Team Ninja, the publisher shift puts it next to games like Halo 3 and Mass Effect as part of Microsoft's first-party lineup.
