Thanks THE RAY, I thought I was going crazy. Its pretty obvious there isn't much room for a call of duty title this Christmas.
Would appreciate upbids from other TSE people for pointing this out.
Of course, Infinity Ward thinks the same thing and hence are not working on WaW, but historically TSE bets against reality until the game has been out for at least 6 months, or reviews go to hell.
@zeromous,yea going to short on this one aswell. its in the pacific and alot of people wont get it because of this. But the question is will it sell well because of the success of COD4?
It has fierce competition. Rock Band 2 BioShock Far Cry 2 LittleBigPlanet Fallout 3 Resistance 2 Tom Clancy's EndWar
Are all games out before Cod:WaW on PS3.I know some of these games arent FPS but i know most people who have ps3s will be getting some of these games instead of Cod.
Treyarch Community Manager JD took to the webs to clarify rampant rumors regarding this "Day One Advantage" – it's not a way to earn experience quicker; it's not a DLC pack available on "day one" and it's not a free backrub from the developers at Treyarch. Instead, it's "immediate access to a high-level rifle (for pre-orders) or LMG (for collector's edition) that other players will have to unlock via ranking up in multiplayer."
anyone else feel this will sell a million less than Call of Duty 4 (~ 2-2.5 million).
CoD: Pacific may be a great game, but CoD4 did so well by being the premier alternative to Halo3, and having insane buzz around it.
Now that the buzz around the franchise has calmed down, just in time for another Treyarch addition, I have serious doubts about this title selling more than a couple of million copies.
Definitely interested in some other perspectives here as to why this will approach 3 million copies sold.
I just don't think they'd jump so far so fast. They can still build off the Modern Warfare theme for a few more games, just like they did with WWII. When that gets old, then switch to future. Around 7 or 8 would be appropriate.
I dont think that pure speculation with no basis in fact and no other reasoning other than they havent done it before, from a post in a unknown community forum really isnt news and certainly doesnt merit an article.
