Bionic Commando sold that amount at U.S. retail from its May 19 release to the end of NPD's retail calendar on May 30, across both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game. NPD Group said it could not disclose the exact split between Xbox 360 and PS3 sales.
"The result, though stylish and engaging, is something rather more primitive than the more enjoyable battles - where the bionic swing and core combat work in closest collaboration - really deserve. Bionic Commando succeeds in resurrecting a good idea lost to the Capcom archives, and giving it a new lease of life, but it falls foul of a few old standards in the process."
Even though Bionic Commando: Rearmed has been delayed, the soundtrack hasn't! The music is available for purchase on places like iTunes and Sumthing Digital. Money-hating Bionic Commando producer Ben Judd, who allowed gamers to chose a cheaper price point for BCR, once again explains why he hates money:
Capcom was on hand at Microsoft’s Games for Windows event to let the press get their hands on a playable demo of Bionic Commando running on the PC. The game will carry the Games for Windows label and as such, supports the Xbox 360 controller. I recommend using this to play the game if you are planning on the PC version.
An XBLA game built from the ground-up using a proprietary engine made for a rich 3D experience will have all of you BC fans jumping for joy. We know this for a fact because we were able to play Bionic Commando Rearmed for a bit in two player local co-op trim.
the video makes the game look absolutely amazing. i never had a chance to play the original on the NES so this will be interesting for me. Also apparently the Rearmed version will unlock an old school texture/skin for your character in the next-gen version.
Capcom didn’t ditch its plan to make a fully 3D Bionic Commando game, but instead decided to please its old-school fans with this modern 2D side-scroller that will be available on XBox Live Arcade and Playstation Network.
