Sales are actually pretty strong for this. Red Steel sold another 46,000 copies in January for a total of 308,000 in North America. I guess the ideal customer for this doesn't read reviews. No idea how this is doing in Europe but it could actually be undervalued.
December sales in North America were flat at 128,000 copies sold over 119,500 sold in November. That brings the North America total to 247,500 copies sold. Japan has only picked up 39,500 copies through January 6. I do think sales in Europe and the remaining momentum in North America will hit the current stock price. So it looks like Red Steel stock is just neutral.
Furthermore, many of the people who bought Red Steel on launch weekend were sitting in line for a day or two and so probably didn't see the terrible reviews when they got into stores. They just picked it up on pre-release hype (just like the stock rising to over 70 DKP prior to launch and then crashing).
I'm not so sure. November was Wii launch month and a lot of people were buying systems and games as gifts and such. I don't see red steel at having much staying power. I believe people that wanted it have it and that it will shortly be eclipsed by better shooters on the system.
Despite terrible reviews, the game sold 119,500 copies in November in North America alone. I've read some user reviews that have been positive. This could be one of those games the critics reject but the casual gamers pick up anyways.
Haven't read an overwhelmingly good review in any regards for this game. Pretty much everyone said it was a suck fest. IGN went so far as to say, Dont buy it especially as a gift.
