Red Steel does NOT require progressive scan. First of all, that shot was for the PAL version of the game only. Secondly, that was a version of the box that was for display only, and Ubi has already acknowledged it as a typo.
@ Alchemy, I guess you were right. Red Steel was a risky stock for all the reasons you pointed out. Game was a good idea but it all came down to execution.
I think there is a lot of uncertainty concerning Red Steel. Although it is by Ubisoft, it is a new untested IP. In terms of graphics, it is far behind most first person shooters so it will have to rely on its gameplay to carry it. This all depends on the execution of the motion sensing sword fights--which is no guarantee Ubisoft will pull this off well.
But you make a good point. Other than Zelda, this would be the Wii game the appeals for the late teens and older crowd (most gamers these days).
Do members really think this game won't even sell 1M copies? I thought that besides Zelda, this was supposed to be the "killer app" for the older crowd.
