Ninja Gaiden DS Demo Coming to Wii

IGN - January 30, 2008

Submitted by lstormy10 (294) at 12:03PM PST on January 30, 2008

"The Everyone's Nintendo Channel has been a part of the Japanese Wii for a couple of months now, but the promise of downloadable DS demos has resulted in nothing more than a bunch of Touch Generation non-game samplers. That's about to change, thanks to just about the most hardcore gaming series around. Tecmo Japan announced today that it will release a demo of Ninja Gaiden DS through the service in the middle of March. The demo will also be available at DS Station retail kiosks."

IGN Review : 8.6 (Great)

IGN - March 7, 2008

Visually, the game's a stunner, and the action is intense and almost non-stop. I don't think the game makes the ultimate case for touch-screen exclusive control in action games, and I certainly don't think stylus control is better than traditional control for the Ninja Gaiden design. But what Team Ninja created for the Nintendo DS definitely works in turning something traditional into something different and unique without forgetting about the fun, too.

1UP Review : A- (Awesome)

1Up - March 19, 2008

The overall package still manages a cohesive, attractive aesthetic. It's clearly among the best-looking titles for the DS platform, and it's a refreshingly mature change of pace on a console known for its kid-friendly fare. The audio portion isn't quite as impressive, though, due to a tragic lack of voiceovers. A little speech could've breathed some real life into the antiquated (yet attractive) hand-drawn cut-scenes.
