Two editors gave the game a perfect score of 10, and the other two gave 9s. They said the new Wiimote controls are easy-to-learn, but made the game fresh and increased the tension.

1UP Preview "There's no visual difference between the Wii and GameCube versions of RE4. However, the Wii version does support full widescreen and, naturally, 480p resolution. To some folks, that's a big deal (and we don't mind it, either). The game will also include the extra content from the PS2 version, which includes the "Assignment Ada" side story."

Worth Playing Preview "Gamers who have somehow avoided playing a previous iteration of the game should jump at this opportunity to play the definitive version of an absolute classic. And at an expected retail price of just $29.99, those who have already enjoyed it should definitely consider a second go-round."

1UP Review: 8.0

If you've never played this game before, you should first ask yourself, "Why not?" But if you haven't, there are better and cheaper options than this still-good-but-not-as-good-as-the-others version for Wii. And if you have played Resident Evil 4, in all its infested humans-who-are-not-quite-zombies mayhem, then there's still really not much reason to investigate what this version has to offer.

This is the definitive version of a modern classic and a must-play, even if you've already experienced the unique thrill of Resident Evil 4 on another platform.
