Interview: Peter Molyneux opens up about Fable 2

Games Radar - September 17, 2008

Our experience with it so far suggests that after years of well-meaning hype and promises, Peter Molyneux may finally be about to deliver the undisputed classic he's always threatened. If the final game turns out to be as innovative, accessible and refreshingly different as we hope, it might well be a much-needed shot in the arm for an increasingly stale RPG scene. We recently got the chance to talk to Molyneux about the game. Here's how the conversation went.

Lionhead has told Eurogamer that the Knothole Island DLC for Fable II will definitely arrive on 22nd December, and not 12th December as was first thought. The Knothole Island DLC, as previously announced, will cost 800 Microsoft Points.

Peter Molyneux interview

OXM UK - September 15, 2008

Peter Molyneux has been at the helm for some of the biggest (and arguably most important) videogames ever made and he's hoping that Fable 2 will join them. We caught up with the legendary games developer at London's Fable II press event to find Molyneux in a surprisingly candid mood, as we spoke about all things Fable...

Pre-E3 Fable 2 Pub Games Review

IGN - July 7, 2008

Submitted by necron101 (15) at 3:56PM PST on July 8, 2008

The original Fable sold more than three million copies on Xbox. Many of those who purchased the game were keenly aware of one glaring omission -- there were no casino-style games. Fortunately, Peter Molyneux and crew are remedying this oversight for the sequel with Fable II Pub Games. The XBLA title, set to arrive in August, offers three gambling mini-games to suck away your time (and your characters' cash) until Fable II hits stores later in the year.

Molyneux names more Fable 2 XBLA titles

Eurogamer - March 19, 2008

Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has revealed there will be a total of three Xbox Live Arcade games that will let you earn money for use in Fable 2. These "semi-gambling" games will reward you with Fable gold if you win. When Fable 2 eventually comes out (sometime this autumn), you will be able to use your accrued funds in game. Anything from dungeons to castles to shops are up for grabs, and splashing out on them will unlock side-quests to explore. As for houses, well, take your pick.

Lionhead Denies Fable 2 Was Canceled

Kotaku.com - November 20, 2007

"The 'big Microsoft first-party title' that is 97% sure to be canceled? It's not Fable 2. Similar to the responses that Remedy and Rare provided on the non-canceled status of Alan Wake and Banjo Threeie, a Lionhead programmer and the team's community manager have assuaged fan fears that the Molyneux-led role-playing game has been shuttered. 'No, we are not cancelled,' wrote a Lionhead staffer on the official community forums."

Edge: Inside Fable II

Edge-Online - September 15, 2008

It’s tempting fate to end by saying that Fable II looks like it might be the game Lionhead has always threatened. “We finished Fable with so many ideas for stuff we could go on to do, and now we feel we’ve realised a lot of that – it’s all come together,” concludes Copley. “We’ve really worked on our story, and I think that’s the major step forward and why we’re all so much happier with Fable II.”

Molyneux: One Acorn Will Grow In ‘Fable 2’

MTV Multiplayer - March 17, 2008

This tidbit: confirmation that the promised acorns-will-grow-into-trees feature that didn’t make the first "Fable" will be in this year’s "Fable 2," but possibly in very limited form.
