IGN Impressions "The video was more meant to show off the art style being employed in the game and not actual gameplay, so we got a lot of shots of the lead character -- a blond haired bloke with goggles -- jumping around in cutscenes. But it was real-time, and it looked sharp and smooth, and it looked like the game's going to be in widescreen on the Nintendo Wii."

Are you getting tired of just reading about Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers? Well the good news is, you will actually be able to pick yourself up a copy before the year closes out. Square-Enix has confirmed that FFCC: The Crystal Bearers will see North American launch before the year's end. No specific date was given, but I'm guessing Square-Enix is going to go with a holiday release. No word on Euro release at this time.

It will be more action oriented and single-player oriented than the original - but will still include multiplayer. The game will have a slightly more "mature/rugged" look than the e3 trailer.

Rumour: EGM says The Crystal Bearers cancelled for Wii

EGM - November 12, 2008

Submitted by OuterHaven (570) at 5:56PM PST on November 12, 2008

One of the rumors in the latest edition of EGM notes that Square Enix is “quietly canceling” Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers for Wii. The Crystal Bearers was one of the first titles announced for Wii, though very little information has been heard over the past few months. The game was also absent from this year’s TGS showing. Square Enix plans on releasing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, which may be the company’s way of replacing The Crystal Bearers.
