On August 23, the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates Gemini Edition goes on sale. It packages a special Nintendo DS Lite with the stained glass artwork from the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fates box and the game for 21,840 yen ($176).

There will be no online co-op because of DS limitations (lag and unable to do voice chat like other less demanding WFC games). Crafting will be more useful than in the original. It will be a more traditional Final Fantasy experience in single player.

IGN Preview "The single player experience showed off the strengths of the graphics engine as it kept everything moving at a smooth 30 frames per second clip with detailed characters and environments. Though it might not look as sharp or as high resolution as Square Enix's Final Fantasy III and Chocobo Tales, the visuals in Crystal Chronicles aren't anything to scoff at."

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates isn’t the best Square Enix product on DS, but it’s very impressive nonetheless. Take the original design of the Crystal Chronicles series on Cube, streamline it for a single player experience, and then rebuild the multiplayer from the ground up, and you’ve basically got what Ring of Fates has to offer.
