The GXB Learning Series is designed by teachers for use in school and at home and combines content based on U.S. State and National Education standards. The first products for the GXB Learning Series, designed for for first through fourth grade, will be available soon from www.gxbi.com with additional products for older kids and adults to follow in 2008."

At Safeco Field, home of the Nintendo-owned Seattle Mariners, Nintendo has begun a network that allows fans to buy access to a service that allows someone to buy food, watch replays, check stats, etc. from one's seat. Nintendo hopes to expand this service to other ballparks.

Pikachu is finally getting its own DS. Nintendo of Japan is release a limited edition (of course) DS that feature the famous pocket monster. Potential buyers will have to fill out an application form to "win" their buying rights.

Nintendo is fully behind producing three different types of DS cartridges.At the Game Developers Conference panel titled "Inspiration Behind Nintendo DSi Development," Nintendo's project lead Matato Kuwahara revealed that there will be a variety of ways to distribute Nintendo DSi software to users, both digitally distributed as well as via retail packaged software.

We've had many Game Boy Pockets, GBA SPs and other portable devices snatched up by certain agitated educators during our formative years, which is why the recent news of a new program to teach English to Japanese students using the Nintendo DS fills us with unbridled, elderly bitterness.

Sharp, Hitachi Displays Probed by Japan's FTR

Sharp Corp. and a Hitachi Ltd. display unit said they were probed by Japan's antitrust regulator, after Kyodo News reported the companies were raided on suspicion of price-fixing for liquid-crystal displays used in game players. The Fair Trade Commission searched offices and outlets of the companies today, Kyodo News reported, without saying where it got the information. The LCDs were used in Nintendo Co.'s DS game player, Kyodo said.

DS breaks UK hardware record… twice

"All the predictions of a bumper Christmas for Nintendo in the UK seem to be proving accurate, with news that its consoles are selling in record numbers. The DS has now broken the previous UK weekly hardware sales figure twice this month, shifting 185,000 in the first week and over 200,000 last week."
