both you and kspraydad are right. He is not a programmer but is most likely just passing along comments from his buddies who are and making those comments his own.
No developer has the resource to make any multi-platform to look better on the PS3.
that being said, if a developer tried hard enough (or spent enough!!) they could make a ps3 title look a lot than a 360 title. But is the cost really worth it? Maybe for exclusives, but thats about it..
Well - this guy is talking about his job. He spends 12 hours a day developping games. You don't have to be Lead Programer to know the different harware. Anyway - I was just saying it is bad advertising ...
Is that some kind of jab at me? It isn't about my 'point of view'.
Interested gamers should be quite prepared to listen to the lead programmer's points of view...just pointing out that this guy isn't/wasn't one and doesn't have the depth of experience to make the commentary that he does.
As I said on his blog...the lack of care taken in writing his view reveals, perhaps, his lack of ACTUAL understanding and insight.
OK, so lets dismiss everything he says because it does not confirm to my view.
Lets assume Jason walks around with blinkers on and does not discuss the projects he works on with any of his coworkers. Now we have assumed that I think it is apparent he is simply talking about the same issues many developers have mentioned, the current development record for the PS3 with problems on ports and the almost obligatory delays would suggest that things are not all rosie on the PS3 development front.
The writer of the blog is an ex member of the harmonix team that has a peripheral role in developing for the PS3 and has no real ACCURATE insight.
Do a quick google search on Jason Booth. He is an artist type and does VERY LITTLE programming. His background is in music. He was "creative director" for Asheron's Call and he wasn't on the programming team for Guitar Hero (technical design). He is not an authority in system architecture, processors, or HD media.
