You being everyone of course! ANd oh think of the children....the children that read thesimexchange.com over their morning coffee :) I'd say you're a riot but if you figure a testy flame to be a fit then you must indeed be incredibly dull irl.
As for your interest in my portfolio, I tend to make money. I started 6 months ago knowing nothing about stocks and I've made some mistakes. I don't see what business of yours it is how well I understand the stock market or how I bet against the market. I'm not ashamed of my portfolio but then again, I've never been one to be bullied either.
As for the dual shock, I believe it also had two things called analog sticks (and rumble) which pretty much added more than one new dimension of control to game pads in particular and made it standard throughout the industry for a time. It was introduced post-launch, and wasn't always supported at first I guess thats not as decent enough comparison to meet your stringent criteria for an argument where Wii fit is successful.
You're naming a rumble-enabled controller? Yah, that's a relevant example when it comes to Wii Fit. Like I said, you have no clue what this product is.
And yes, some younger users do read this. If you spent more time reading and comprehending comments, rather than simply insulting everyone and throwing fits, you would have noticed (many have openly said so).
If you think you know so much more about the video game industry than others, it's curious that your portfolio does not reflect that at all.
Here's the meat and potatoes for bobble-heads who genuinely don't get it:
* Its a tricky question to name a first-party peripheral that has sold more than 8 million. I can, but you didn't even try to guess "Loldar". You make it so obvious that you can't think outside the box.
* The answer that comes to me first is the dual shock btw are there any others? You can do it...
* You laid down the straw-man little dude, not I, by implying for everyone else that I was comparing the ROB to only crap like the ROB. You didn't mention the Activator which had a whole high-budget game marketed with it. Sounded too much like Wii-fit to you perhaps.
* Whether you choose to admit or not, there is empirical evidence supporting my hypothesis which you casually discard, or fail to consider altogether
* Your "hypothesis" is supported by 'the game will be good trust me', 'casual players may like this', 'people bought a wii, and think why not spend 70$ on an additional peripheral', and your gut feeling about 'Wii-Fit promising to be fun'. The worst part is you don't even commit to a position, you sort of whimp out by saying 'I'm not saying Wii-Fit will be a huge hit'. In short you are adding nothing to the conversation at all- Just being contrary!
Oh yeah kids *totally* read this site. They are so into trading virtual video game stocks! Even better for you, those kid' probably don't even know what a straw-man is - perfect for me to demonstrate YOURS. I guarantee they already know dirtier words than I used but I'm sorry for soiling your precious ears. To be honest I'm tired of you and I really don't care what you think of my maturity...in fact you're hardly one to judge.
Down-bidding normal discourse...? That's lower than name-calling. Of course completely lost on you is that fact. I do believe that makes you both a "turd" and a "douche" by the traditional metaphor and I make no apologies for your affliction.
If you want to roll with the straw-men, downbids and general ill-will, thats your fine but its going to get colourful when you do. I have to reach on a linguistic level that you can understand of course!
To the implementation of an IGNORE FEATURE! CHEERS
Is it really necessary for you to resort to name-calling so quickly? It's immature, grow up.
Yes, it's a strawman. ROB the Robot and light guns are hardly a fair comparison for Wii Fit. This is also unique in that it's a peripheral/game that's targetted right at the "non-gamer" audience. It's not as limited as most peripherals.
If you think that Wii Fit is equal to Duck Hunt or the Superscope, then you clearly have NO clue about the product and you should look into it further.
Again, drop the immature name-calling. If for no other reason, there are younger users on here and they don't need to see your garbage vocabulary.
Seriously LOLDMASSOFFdar, get bent. You don't even know what a straw-man argument is, since you just used one. At least my question was relevant to how many this will sell: NAME ONE FIRST PARTY PERIPHERAL THAT SOLD MORE THAN 8 MILLION (our current WiiFit Levels). It's ok I understand....You can't.
Can you also explain how WiiFit is anymore a complete title than Duck Hunt, Superscope6, Eternal Champions?....I could go freaking on here. But I won't because LOLDAR in his infinite wisdom decrees these titles invalid and improper
So there is no reason to believe Wii Fit should do anything beyond mediocre sales typical of any first party peripheral.
You manage to be a turd and a douche at the same time LOLdar... Its really quite amazing. Oh and just so you don't have to look it up, thats an "Ad hominem" argument/attack, to go with your strawman.
The attach rates aren't extremely low...lower than the other two consoles yes, but not that bad. Do we have any numbers to compare with the PS/PS2? I would think that they would be similar to the Wii (though I could be wrong). I hear about "dusty" Wiis mostly from gaming sites...most of my friends who have one still play it regularly. Also, the inclusion of Virtual Console sales numbers could change the attach rate numbers. I believe that a major selling point of the Wii is the VC games, so that could skew the attach numbers.
But, of course, you could be right. That's the tricky thing about predicting future Wii game sales...hopefully we'll get a better idea after a couple of their upcoming releases.
I'm of the opinion that these 'casuals' bought the Wii for the Wii Sports are are not even looking to expand their purchase...evidence low attach rates and reports of 'dusty' Wiis that we have seen.
It's "niche target" is the group of so-called "casuals" thought analysts are always slamming cause they're not buying non-Nintendo games. A common argument is that many people are buying a $250+ console for Wii Sports...so why wouldn't they spend $70 for their next purchase?
I'm not saying it'll be a huge hit, but if it's targetted well, it could be a perfect fit for the non-gamer market that the Wii is dominating. I think we'll see the same kind of "wow, I've never seen a video game like that before" mainstream reaction that Wii Sports saw.
Also, people spend hundreds of dollars on fitness equipment, so why wouldn't they spend $70 on something that also promises to be fun?
Ok, even I can see these numbers are ridiculous. This should not be trading above 1000$ at any time, let alone once the Wii has 100million consoles in the bank.
A 1:10 adoption ratio is crazy for this type of perihperal. It will be a lot higher (like 1:20 for this one).

Another strawman and downbid. You are total class
