Yup, the good news is that via the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, DS players from around the world will be able to upload their best Olympic performances for all to say, adding much-needed longevity to what boils down to a rather unsatisfying single player experience. On the multiplayer side, it has been revealed that up to four DS owners will be able to compete at once in events that range from the 100m sprint and archery to trampoline and the so-called Dream Events...

Yes, I am one of them (I guess), but not the biggest player. I don't have that much invested. I take Japan as reference and come to other conclusions then people here. The current drop will be more or less caused by VGC numbers I assume,and they are pretty much what I was expecting. About 10 DKP for the first 2 weeks. Japan is way more DS crazy than the U.S. There is even a higher DS install base there then U.S. right? The Japanese love Party Games lately (more than the U.S).The "troubled" news on the economy should do the rest in term of sales, I guess. I think U.S. consumers begin to realize in what problems they basically are. True the FED and the government fight against the fall of the economy, but news are news, at least on the first hand.

I hope you win big, since you and I are in the same boat (long), which mean I also win big. I estimated that the price should be around 10 DKP - 23 DKP, and I am more inclined toward 23 DKP.
If my worst estimate come true, I lose a lot of money. If my best estimate come true, I stand to win a lot of money.

Is there some reason that's not obvious this stock keeps going down? If it can do 90k in one week in Japan (last weeks Media Create) surely it can do over 170k over two weeks in the US.

Sorry i guess i was misreading the chart the link in my last post went too. I guess i was looking at mario and sonic games on the DS world wide that haven't sold under 1.3 million. The game you listed was #25 at 1.37 million copies. Meaning this game would sell at least that based on hype alone. Being that people will already know this game because they've seen it on the Wii, where as nobody knew about Mario vs. Kong because it wasn't on any other platform. And either was the first Mario vs. Kong which flopped at 250k on the GBA, so i think that's a bad comparison to this game because of the fantastic success the Wii version of this game will produce! I believe if the Wii sells over 1 million copies. So will this. Going off the three games listed below. Mario and Sonic fans will most likely relate to the Lego Star Wars games. This is because think of the difference between the three games. Now if a customer is able to pay for his or her own game, which game would they probably get. The Star Wars one probably because the older audience that can buy their own games arn't going to get Shrek and Harry potter on their DS. Come on. So like the Star Wars brand, the Mario brand/title can interest all owners of the DS, not just fans of the little kid movies. Also both Shrek and Harry Potter lacked multiplayer. So like Star Wars, people will pick this game up because it is fun to play against other people (but unlike Star Wars it won't be buggy as hell which will boost sales well past Star Wars), and with the release date of the multiplayer mini-game monster being late January...It will be at the top of the list when people go to buy a game for their new DS in January.

World wide Bleezy, the figures you see there are world wide.
Here just one that on example that a mario game sold less than 1 Million in NA (thats US+CA).

There isn't a mario game or a sonic game on the DS that's sold under 1.3 million in the USA according to VGC. Also the news of the leaderboards should help boost sales right? Especially in the USA i would think that would help sales (in Asia i think they're more accustomed to this kind of thing, probably doesn't help sales so much). But really, when you look at the list of top selling DS games, i just think this should be on there. Very interesting observation, Just_Ben. After reading your point about US vs Japan DS userbase, I realized that you are correct. The Japan DS userbase is significantly bigger than US (21 million vs 17.5 million, or a 17% decrease). It seems valid when you compare Pokemon Diamond & Pearl Japan (5.4 Million) vs US (estimate 4.2 Million), which is US = 80% of Japan.
Using that ratio, 80% of 140K (Japan's first two weeks from deftangel) = 112K. Therefore, I changed my long position into short for this one. Luckily, the price increased again since you posted your thought, so I got change to reverse my position.
About US economy, IMO, since the price point of DS game is only $30 or $35, it should be affected as much as games that are $50 or $60. It is possible that instead of 112K, it get 130K or more.
About Japan love Party games more than US, any data supporting the theory ? IIRC, Carnival games are doing very well in US, but have no Japan data to compare with. Mario Party 8 are doing phenomenal in US AND Japan.
