  I saw this on Apple Insider as well. Apple has been on the Blu-Ray Consortium for a while but hasn't released any BRD products, even those video production is commonly done on Macs. This will likely just be a BTO option, and at most built-in on a higher end Mac Pro SKU. I think this will only be adding choice for those who need BRD for video production, and not full-fledged support to push the format.

  Wall Street analyst Shaw Wu has caught wind of some reports stating that next-gen video support has been decided in favor of Blu-ray and future computers will ship with players built in.
