Wedbush Morgan’s Michael Pachter has just told videogaming247 that he expects Xbox 360 to have outsold PS3 in America last month, ahead of NPD data to be released this week.
The analyst said that his research note on the figures is to be released in approximately 45 minutes.
In a subsequent follow up he also pointed out that he expects the 360 version of GTA:IV to outsell the PS3. Not that that's news in itself.

what happened last month was that he was all saying the ps3 outsold the 360... and then on the OXM podcast, he said "oh and i'd like to amend my previous prediction. the 360 outsold the ps3. i had it wrong." i think those guys record on wednesday or thursday (the podcast comes out friday) so he got that in right before the official results.[ Oracle ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 148 ]bids

Well that is his prediction now, but it is ever so close. That is why it seems he is flip flopping again because he told them that the 360 did outsell the PS3 for the month. Hmm, looks like he pulled a flip flop again. Whoa, what happened to his 500k PS3 prediction early on? The margin is much closer as well. Anyhow this seems eerily similar to last month. Where he called it for the PS3 which turned out to be the incorrect, but decided he wanted to change his prediction mid-week hehe. I'm not sure what is going on with his predictions lately because they really are all over the place. CYA maybe the game of the day especially with his PS3 predictions since launch. Well, and that is exactly what I'm saying. I find it convenient that he did that last month as we know NPD releases there figures to certain organizations a day or two ahead of time. Now, look at this month, too much in the flip flop territory for me. Not to mention his outrageous prediction early on for this month, which now seems to have changed drastically. Perhaps he is starting to use new models, who knows, but he seems to be all over the place and his “Upgrade Theory” seems to be out the window for now at least.
