Retailers report brisk Fable 2 sales, pointing toward massive first week sales. Fable 2 is now poised to break the 1,000,000 unit mark on opening week, worldwide.

Even if not wrong, 350,000 day one is still quite below a comparable title - MGS4 - which has settled around 5 million on the exchange.
I think 4 million or less for this title is reasonable.

Other things to note :
For reference, the top-4 titles have each sold over 5 million copies to date. If Fable 2 were to follow those footsteps, it would be in hallowed territory, and shatter many records for Western console RPGs.

Yeah pretty much, they get these numbers out really early. I am not sure if they have ever proved to be spot on or just a well informed guess.
