Sony to raise prices by up to a third to offset tumbling value of the pound. Over the next few months the Japanese company will charge retailers more for a number of its products.
However, industry experts have predicted that the price increase will not be passed on to customers because shopkeepers are desperate to encourage spending.
Sony announced the move just days after the pound fell to its lowest level against the euro, meaning the company was making less money from British sales.

If PS3 price was increased, AND X360 price is NOT increased, I think there should be significant impact for short to mid-term sales #. GLS impact could be low, but it could also be high, since it is possible that customer will remember something like "PS3 is very expensive, compared to other console".
