  G4 is trying to share the love among the consoles (namely PS3 and 360) and some of their choices are arbitrary. They want to keep everyone happy. Fable 2 is not GOTY imo, there are many better games.

  Also of note - Fallout 3 beat Fable 2 for the "Best RPG" award, which confuses me a bit.
  
  These awards are all mostly meaningless, anyway, but I figured I'd share.

  Fable 2 took the gold in the "Game of the Year" category, beating out Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto IV, Left 4 Dead and Resistance 2.
