In a rather pointed media alert distributed yesterday, Sony illustrates why they believe the PlayStation 3 is the most complete console entertainment experience, complete with a handy table to highlight the competition's shortcomings.

Completely agree, said as much in the comments on another site. They need to get the focus away from the price, not back towards it.
What's obvious to 99% of people who will see that chart (and that's not a lot of mainstream consumers) is that yes, you have to spend more than $199 to get the full Xbox experience and yes, if you want wireless/blu-ray/sony exclusives, a PS3 isn't bad value.
Their real problem is that their 'value' proposition is only resonating with a small segment of the market. The Xbox 360 Arcade value proposition resonates with a much bigger segment. Slagging it off isn't going to change that.[ Oracle ] [ Level 21 ] [ Rank: 291 ]bids

well put. as much as i love shooters i'm not excited about this one, didn'get killzone 1 nearly as much as black for example, and 2nd version of killzone vs 4th version of epic mgs4... i mean it is a more popular genre but...[ Oracle ] [ Level 20 ] [ Rank: 444 ]bids

Greater value is only going to resonate if the products being compared are of comparable price points. What most people see is that they can start playing 360 games at half the price of a PS3.
