SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals: Combined Assault is the fourth game of the SOCOM series for PS2. This game is released in conjunction with SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 (PSP) and is a complementary game that works through cross talk. Both games feature Navy SEAL missions to the fictional nation of Adjikistan. Unique to this edition is the ability to complete missions in either Combined Assault and Fireteam Bravo 2 and the events occurring in one campaign will affect the events of the other.

Otherwise Combined Assault brings back many of the themes that made SOCOM popular. It is a third-person squad-based tactical shooter that involves sneaking and taking out the enemy from a distance. In the single player campaign, you are accompanied by three computer controlled soldiers. You can either give these team members orders using the controller or by voice using a USB headset. You can also do the campaign in co-op mode online with three friends. You also have flexibility on what missions you want to complete, being given the option of choosing between two or three missions each time.

The online multiplayer features 32-player games in 7 modes on 22 maps. The design is largely the same as in previous SOCOM games.
