I doubt India has a preference for PC gaming. It's much more likely an income issue and the avg Indian consumer simply cannot afford a modern console. They can afford an old PC and play old games. The article says even Internet connectivity is expensive, so that means they aren't playing simple Flash games. It would seem to be much more logical that as Indian standard of living approaches the Western world, they will begin consuming products of similar price ranges. Console gaming is much cheaper than similar PC gaming in terms of hardware that console gaming would eventually make sense for the Indian market.
