e-mail with a copy of a communication from a usually trustworthy source claims that "At E3 Microsoft will make an official announcement that we are dropping the 20GB pro console to $299... As we launch the 60GB SKU throughout July, the 20GB SKU will DISCONTINUE. You will see the new SKU on your 7/1 price list,"

Get rid of the 60gb (20gb) stock with a timed price cut, and replace it with a larger HDD SKU 80gb (?). I think that the article may be saying something along the lines of cutting the general price for the mid-level 360 SKU. Moving up to 60 GB and going to the $299.99 price point - the price point move before the HDD size move (to clear out 20 GB inventory). I would suspect that Microsoft would prefer to make some real price cuts instead - especially with the knowledge of Sony not planning on or really able to make any price cuts to the PS3 this year.
