"Killer 7 and No More Heroes developer Grasshopper Manufacture tapped to produce the next game in the series for the Wii.

According to a report out of last week's TGS, Suda 51's studio will begin work on the as yet untitled Fatal Frame game after development wraps on the ultra-violent No More Heroes, which Ubisoft will publish in the US in February. Like Fatal Frame, No More Heroes is also for the Wii, underscoring Grasshopper's apparent enthusiasm for Nintendo's unconventional console.

It will be interesting to see how Fatal Frame's landmark photography-based gameplay will map to the Wii's motion sensitive controls, though if past iterations are any indication, we may just drop the remote altogether and go hide in the closet."

No Fatal Frame for EU or US

Kotaku - April 8, 2008

Submitted by PhilHarrision (424) at 7:00AM PST on April 9, 2009

Fatal Frame probably won't be released on the Wii in the US. If it makes you feel any better, Americans, it probably won't be released in Europe either. Echoing yesterday's "not our fault" statement from Tecmo, Nintendo Europe have said "there are currently no plans to release this game in Europe". As we know, "no plans" isn't the same as "never", but at the same time, it doesn't exactly sound promising.

Fatal Frame 4 Preview

IGN - January 30, 2008

Submitted by lstormy10 (294) at 7:06PM PST on January 30, 2008

"For fans of the horror genre, there are few games that can stack up to the intensity and mood created in Tecmo's Fatal Frame franchise. Even if you've never played Fatal Frame before, however, there's reason to start paying attention now, as the franchise's fourth incarnation is heading exclusively to Wii. First details on the game were unveiled earlier today, and while sparse, they paint a great story for Wii owners and survival horror fans."

Translated by NeoGAF : Fatal Frame 4 has several bugs. When a certain condition is triggered, the game can lock up. There are also Ghost entries in the database that remain blank, and an extra option unlocked after the game is cleared that is unselectable.
