The law of diminishing returns as it relates to new releases. Obviously exluding December due to Christmas, I have calculate the aggregate decline in weekly sales for about 20 of the top selling games of this year. From this I extracted a basic algorithm from which I determined my prediction. It's an imperfect formula, but still one that I have found is relatively accurate and informed when used as an averaging method. My comment was made specifically regarding October sales, not total sales. But basically if you look at how every big name new release does week over week you will see that there is about a 3 week sweet spot, and then sales start to dip exponentially.
P.S. Whoever downbid me, I don't think that's cool. No worries if you disagree with my assertions, but reply and say so rather than punishing my thoughts with a negative bid. Thanks!
