Maybe Mark Rein and Gabe Newell should get together then as both are trying to achieve the same thing with the Xbox and mods.
Obviously mods are fairly easy to deploy but a lot more controlled within Live, so "open" system aside this will be a discussion about how much will we have to pay to provide the mods via the Live system.
This all seems rather ironic that the paid for service lends itself to a model that makes even more money. I think Microsoft should be working harder on allowing free content on certain game types especially whislt they maintain a paid for online gaming subscription.
