@kspraydad, yeah it appears the journalist is assuming "platinum" means 1 million in sales, which is not generally the case in video games. It sounds like they are using the RIAA's definition of platinum, which means 1 million records sold. However, the RIAA also considers gold as 500,000 records, in the video game world we all know going gold means the master disc is ready for manufacturing. "Platinum hits" doesn't mean the game has sold 1 million. I'm skeptical of this news resulting in such a large price move.
