@lstormy10, Wouldn't it depend on the game & only affec multiplayer? If you put a faster disc read speed into a console it will be a non issue in single player, you can simply use it to reduce load times.
In multiplayer it would become an issue where games need to continuously stream from the disc, so you default it to the lowest disc speed or implement the same speed through coding. Games that only require loading of levels before the game begins could simply default to lowest disc speed.
