@sagexsdx, You are wrong. Those 2 game are NOT the cause of PSP H/W increase. I don't know why this (sales increase) happen, but I know for sure it is not caused by the games, since PSP games sales are still anemic / lackluster, except the 2 games you mentioned.
I think most people bought PSP and treat them like "Walkman", but that still doesn't explain why iPOD sales in Japan is strong. Anyone have the figure of iPOD sales in the last three month (since Dec 07) ? If we can compare iPOD sales before and after PSP H/W sales increase (or after PSP Slim release), then we should be able to determine whether it is really caused by multimedia player capabilities of PSP.
For those thinking about saturation, remember that DS weekly sales of 45K is still very high (compared to any H/W not named DS / DSL).
It is very interesting to see how long PSP can maintain their > DSL weekly rate. I think by May or by June it probably dropped to < DSL weekly.
