@sagexsdx, If you said this "I think there is enough money in this industry for a system like the Wii to coexist with systems like the 360 and the PS3" a month ago, I would have agreed. But April NPD sure didn't seem to reflect that situation (Top 10 consist of 4 Wii, 2 X360 and 2 PS3, and the fact that X360 & PS3 hardware underperform severely).
If May NPD is a repeat of this month's data, I must agree with Just_Ben's opinion that Wii are grabbing 360/PS3 share.
As a woman, with slight interest in gaming, I certainly find Wii (Cooking Mama, Big Brain Academy, Mario Kart Wii) & DS (Are you smarter than a 5th grader, Club House game) much more interesting than PS3 and X360. In fact, I object to my husband's plan to purchase PS3 and X360 (I don't mind PS2, but PS3 is a different story), and suggest to him to use that money to purchase a second Wii, so I can play game by myself and don't have to wait to take a turn with my husband and children (I am so looking forward to Wii Fit).
