I don't think there is brand loyalty at all in the videogames sector. I believe the games are the most important part of equation, compared to brand loyalty.
There was no brand loyalty when PS1 compete against N64. There was also no brand loyalty when PS3 compete against Wii.
I had PS1 and PS2, and I only have GC (didn't have N64), so someone might "think" that I am loyal to Sony, especially since I have more PS2 games than GC games. This generation, I have Wii, but no PS3. Those games that I bought on PS2 was not released yet on PS3, and should it be released simultaneously with Wii version, I think I don't need to buy PS3. I think I might purchase X360 over PS3, especially if there is no "good" (for me) PS3 exclusive.
