@ Laoldar "I'm doubting that making it a budget title will cause a very large increase in sales because most people who want a great shooter for their PS3 would have already purchased it...it's not like there's a ton of other options right now."
I think this game will continue selling well, especially if given a price drop (at the right time).
I'm guessing the main thing that's keeping this game going is the increasing PS3 userbase and the fact that this is one of the only good games on the PS3. There are some other "good" (Lair, Hevenly Sword, GTA IV) games coming to the PS3 in 2007 but it seems like most of the really big names like MGS4 and Final Fantasy will be out in 2008. People who purchased the PS3 for Lair or Hevenly Sword won't just sit on their hands for the next year or so waiting for MGS4, they'll go out and purchase the other solid title on the PS3, Resistance, especially if it's at a cheap price.
I can only see the big 2007 releases helping Resistance because they will increasing the PS3 userbase. Until another good FPS comes along and renders Resistance useless or a steady flow of "good" games is created, I don't see Resistance sales falling off (by that much, at least). I can't think of any big name FPS's coming soon and I don't see a steady flow of top quality games being created until after MGS4 or the Final Fantasy XIIIs are released.
