You make some great points, I thought others would come to the same conclusion without me rehashing it.
There is a tremendous interest in the PS3. Everyone I speak to about the PS3 is simply waiting for games and have no interest in an Xbox360.
I feel the PS3 is going to have its traditional fall resurgence when GTA4, Katamari and others come out.
With Little Big Planet falling on the heels of these games a few quarters later, sales are going to be strong based on strong install base hungry for such games. I think this stock is a huge steal!
Gaara pointed out that he expects LBP to sell 1.2 million. While I'm not as conservative as he is on this stock, he points out that 1 in 5 adoption rate is actually quite high.
I agree with this point wholeheartedly, which is why I admitted my sample is bit small, but I feel this game will be heavily promoted via Sony and the Sony online service. I feel that PS3 owners are going to be saturated by LBP to the point where average joes are buying it for their families, and downloading items to play with in their sandbox.
It's not going to sell like a Lego Star Wars game but if Sony plays their cards right, this game is certain to be at least a million seller, even if it suffers from low adoption rates (10-15:1).
I'm glad that some people saw past the flame war to give their honest opinions on why or why not this game will be successful. It was nice to get the conversation started save a bitter taste.
