I agree with Lapperscrapper. We can bid on a game like Halo 3 which is months away, but Manhunt 2 which is coming very soon has yet to be listed... very strange. This game needs an IPO and fast!
After reading the IGN preview, I would be interested to see this game get an IPO. They describe the game as "the goriest game we've ever seen." I am curious to see if people think that will hurt sales (especially on the Wii), or the publicity from the gore will drive some extra sales. I think that Wii owners are hurting for anything of quality right now, so if the game plays well, there might be plenty of people who wouldn't mind a mature game.
Anyway, the IGN article gave a release date of July 10 for this game, so we are getting fairly close to this hitting the streets.
charron, you may be right. I wasn't too sure about the IPO price when I submitted this. But as of now, I wouldn't really say the Wii has a lack of M rated games. Already there's Splinter Cell, Scarface, The Godfather, Far Cry Vengeance, Driver: Parallel Lines, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, and now Manhunt 2 (and most likely Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles when it is released).
While I did bid this, I worry the IPO is too high. The Wii does have a lack of M-rated games (and you know this is going to get that rating), but at the same time this may be "too much" for many people. The original was quite gory, and the gameplay was too slow to draw in many sales. So I'm all for the game getting listed but I'd short it right out of the gate at this price.
