"What sells in Japan? That's right. Hardware bundles. So come January 31, Japan will be getting another hardware bundle, this one pairing Devil May Cry 4 with the 40GB PS3. Oh, you'll also get a Blu-Ray full of what sounds like (hey, Ash is on holidays, I'm doing my best) Devil May Cry 4 gameplay footage, cut together to form a story reel. It'll sell for ¥47,800, and you can get the PS3 in both colours (black, ceramic white)."
It's time to lay some truth down about Devil May Cry 4. Although it was originally planned as a PS3 exclusive, some may find it startling that development wasn't even started using any PS3-related equipment. Development began and grew using a PC engine
"as of right now the ps3 version looks better, and runs better, than the 360 version. I saw a little screen tearing in the 360 version... I think, even, like, people who were playing it felt like it felt better on the ps3" also they say the moves are easier to pull off on the dualshock3/sixaxis
@ixaarii, I suspect this could do amazing things for the sales. I'm not talking necessarily about the bundle as much as the tie in: the over the top action and dramatization of DMC I believe is a perfect fit for an animated series adding a bit of depth to it and complementing eachother.
Which brings me to a question I wanted to ask you: for a while I've been thinking that japanese developers will do a lot for the ps3 even in case of multiplatforms, DMC4 I believe is such a situation. I was watching yesterday the new 1up show and my suspicions were confirmed when they kept saying things like it feels like the game looks & feels better for the ps3, even though the 360 version is good, from colors to controls meant for sixaxis. They were also saying how compared to this they were "this is all?" when they saw Ninja Gaiden 2. So my question is: should my hypothesis be true and DMC4 prove to be better than NG2, what happens when a platform that used to have only one big name in the genre gets a big competitor, but one that doesn't have past reputation on Xbox? Do the sales get split? Do Xbox owners remain with their past favorite, do they migrate to the 'better' (in this assumption) game leaving the first or do on the contrary the two games benefit eachother resulting in crosspollination and both games sell better because of an increase user base in the genre? Any historical situation that comes to mind on this subject?
"To tie in with the launch of Devil May Cry 4, the first volume of the DMC animated series will be released in the US by ADV films on February 5. It'll be $26.96, or if you'd prefer to fork out for something with a less puzzling price point, it comes bundled with the special edition of the game."
@FoxHoundADAM, I don't think it's okay to post a news two times even if it's multiplatform. These days a lot of things are. If I were you i'd take it down quick before i get downbids.
