I want to add that by using this game in a bundle in different regions is a very good idea. If they(Sony) change their minds and use this game as a pack in, in major regions, than word of mouth about the game and it being included in a bundle should help sales pick up a bit.
Well I finally have this game after all these months of waiting, and it is just as cool as they say it is. I played the demo but that really doesn't do anything for the experience of the full game except get you a bit excited(maybe). All in all looks and plays great but it will be a short game which kinda cheapens the experience for me but still worth the buy(for myself). If anyone is unsure, rent it, but you'll probably beat it that day.
Good:
-Superb presentation and excellent acting make the game feel like a movie
-Having three different attack stances works well and keeps the combat fresh
-Sixaxis motion controls are implemented nicely
-From the moment it starts until the moment the credits roll, the game never lets up.
The Bad:
-So short it can be finished in an afternoon
-Not enough variety to the bad guys' design and attacks
-Some bosses feel a little cheap.
completely agree ... its getting decent reviews and PS3 owners are hungry for games ... just like 360 about a year and a half ago, everything that came out sold really well initially just because there was nothing else to play
Does the future seem overvalued to other people here? I know the game has had strong media exposure up to the game's release, but with such mediocre ratings on a console with a relatively small US install base, can it make 200,000 sold in September?
"Heavenly Sword comes very close to being great, but nearly every element of its design falls short in one way or another. The combo system is quite good, though it has a few holes (like no specific block button). The battles quickly become very repetitive due to a lack of interesting enemies and the "arena" battles that frequently pause your progress. Kai's sniper missions work well in theory but can be overly long, and some of the extra bits like the button matching mini-games needed a bit more fine-tuning. Heavenly Sword's presentation is stellar and nicely ties the action sequences together, but we just wish that the same amount of care that went into these cutscenes were applied to the game's pacing."
