A gameplay video. It was added today and I haven't seen any of it before, so I'm guessing it's new.
Visually, it is very, very impressive, but, to be quite honest, gameplay doesn't seem that exciting. Seems like a button mashing game. The mini-cutscene is very impressive, but gameplay stops during the exciting parts. Actually being able to control your character while that pillar is falling and having to fight some enemies on the way down would be absolutely awesome, but all you do is mash X. Then after the cutscene, your just in a room with enemies like before the pillar fell.
Neat article on Joystiq saying they may be adding an online feature - they want to impliment it and are looking into it. Also as of today the game is known to be 90% done. Hopefully this will be a classic. Would be cool if the gameplay felt like Shadow of Colossus.
I have to agree with Hmmsphil if this sells less then 2 million I'll be very amazed. It is looking to be the best graphics wise so far. With the different weapon stances it makes for tons of different attack choices. From what I've read you can change stances while attacking, making for some interesting combo's. Te only thing that worries me is there are alot of good games coming in the fall, if they keep pushing the release back it may get forgotten.
I think there is one camp out there that claims HS will be the next big PS3 game and another that claims Lair will be the next big PS3 game. It appears the simExchange is weighing the two as pretty even right now. I don't know if they two are exactly substitutes, though I can see them targeting the same market segment, there is of course the economic tradeoff of which to buy if you can only buy one.
Hmmsphil, I've seen some buzz on other forums for HS, but probably on the same level as Lair. I've heard both games talked about as "killer apps" for the PS3, but the same people also spoke of Motorstorm as a killer app.
My feeling is that there just isn't enough concrete information yet for people to want to risk buying the game's stock at a higher price (at least for me anyways).
Can someone help me with something? Am I just really stubborn and thinking "This game will atleast sell 1.5-2mil" or am I just not getting it? I though this one of the few select games that caught peoples eyes, this and little big planet.
So predictions for Heavenly Sword, one of the most talked about upcoming PS3 games put it well below Lair? That's crazy. I definitely see this as a million+ seller internationally. Lair I think will likely clock in around 700-850k.
